Commissions - Here's how it works

Send me three to four good (meaning high in quality) pictures of your furry friend with your desired canvas size and medium (acrylics or oils) via e-mail. Do you have specific requests like a crown, a specific pillow or toy let me know and send me a picture of it. After receiving your mail, I'll send you one or two drafts for the composition (not the final image) together with the contract for work. Read it carefully, sign it and return it to me with your choice for the composition. Once you have received my order confirmation by email, the first of two instalments for the work becomes due. This amount, which corresponds to the contract for work, is due within ten days.

Once I received your payment, I will start working on the painting and send photos to keep you updated. Is something amiss? Let me know and reply to the last update as soon as possible with small changes (If, in my opinion, the work is already too far along, I won't make changes to the entire painting; otherwise, it would be as if I were creating a new painting).

When I'm done painting, you'll receive a last photo for your approval. If you're happy with the painting, I will add the varnish (final protective layer). For acrylics this will happen immediately, for oils after one month of drying.

Oil paint takes a very long time to dry and needs at least a month before I can apply the varnish. Otherwise, the paint underneath may not dry properly and, in the worst case, could even develop mold.

Once I've applied the varnish, I'll send you a message requesting payment of the second instalment in accordance with the contract for work. This amount is due within 30 days of receiving my message. As soon as I've received the second instalment, I'll ship the artwork directly to your home.

Of course, the time required varies from painting to painting. A painting featuring two or more dogs is more time-consuming than one with just one dog. A sparkling crown with rhinestones on your furry friend's head is no problem but will incur a small surcharge to cover the additional cost of materials.

Please be aware that I put my heart and soul into this work, which I do in my free time. This means that my work may be delayed for various reasons. Rest assured, however, that I will let you know if this happens and will resume work as soon as possible.
